Upgrades in Shell Shock Live make your tank better as you level. You receive 1 upgrade token every time you level up (2 for when you reach level 100) which can be used to invest in the categories below.
Chassis
Upgrading the chassis gives armor to the tank allowing it to take more damage. Each point invested gives the tank 1% starting HP in the form of armor. Maxing the chassis will max out the armor providing an additional 40% hp at the start of a match. The skills in this category gives a chance to earn a small amount of hp or armor each turn.
Skills
Heavy Plating: 5% chance to recover 5 armor per turn
Advanced Internals: 5% chance to recover 5 HP per turn
Adaptive Electronics: 5% chance to recover 5 HP and/or 5 armor per turn
The skills will stack, meaning there is a chance to recover 20 HP in a single turn!
Gun
Upgrading the gun increases the chance of a weapon dealing critical damage by .5%. Critical damage starts at 1.5x and can be increased by going after the skills in this category. Maxed out Guns will give players a 20% chance dealing critical damage!
Skills
Reinforced Barrel: + .1x damage with critical damage
Anti-Tank Missiles: + .15x damage with critical damage
Helical Grooves: + .25x damage with critical damage
If all 3 skills are upgraded, then every critical hit does twice the normal damage!
Track
Upgrading the track will allow tanks to move across steeper terrain. Maxing this out can make tanks go almost anywhere around the map. The skills in this category increase fuel as well.
Skills
Expanded Fuel Tank: Adds 10 extra fuel, enabling slightly further movement.
Fuel Efficient Engine: Increases Mile Per Gallon on the tank effectively adding 20 more fuel.
Pressurized Fuel Tank: Adds 30 extra fuel.
Luck
Increasing luck increases the chance of getting better higher tiered weapons in crates, more items in crates, and increases the chance of getting better starter weapons in game.
Skills
Hefty Haul: Increases chance for crates to drop armor, and higher quantity of armor.
Extra Items: Increases chance for crates to drop single use consumable items.
Grappling Hook: Chance for the tank to automatically grab closely placed crates, whether they be hover crates, or supply drop type crates.
Note: The ratio that these skills affect are currently unknown, however, they do increase quantity of drops from crates in most cases.
