Tips & Trivia[ | ]

  • When Hover-Ball activates its floating ability, gravity is actually not turned off completely. Instead, gravity is just lowered to an extremely small amount, meaning Hover-Ball does not truly float in the air. This can be visualized by shooting Hover-Ball 90 degrees in the air with small to moderate power. When it "hovers", the projectile can be seen falling at a very slow pace, rather than staying completely still.
  • The floating ability activates when the shot hits its apex, which means it can be activated multiple times if the shot is sent into another arc after rebounding off a bumper or orbiting around a black hole. Hover-ball shares this trait with Payload.
  • The floating ability only activates on the top of an arc. If shot at an angle less than 1 degree, there is no arc apex and the ability does not activate. This trait is shared among all other weapons that use the arc apex to activate their effects.
  • If Hover-Ball activates just before rebounding off a bumper or orbiting a black hole, once the shot leaves, it will fly straight in that direction for the duration of the ability. Hover-Ball does not have to hover horizontally.
  • [Applicable only without wind] If you know the angle for a 100 power shot, reducing the power by 7 (93 power) will land the hover-ball just a little further (in range of the AOE, unless there is a terrain difference), and reducing the power by 9 (91 power) will land the heavy hover-ball in a similar position.
